The Chisapani Nagarkot Trek is a short 3 day trip around Kathmandu but can be extended for a further 102 days to Dhulikhel and Namo Buddha. This is designed for short time travellers who want a taste of what Nepal has to offer. Chisapani Nagarkot Trek starts from Sundarijal after driving 45 minutes from Kathmandu. The first trail through the Shivapuri National Park passes a watershed that provides 40% of drinking water to Kathmandu Valley. This trek offers a beautiful nature and village experience with the natural environment of the Himalayas. Perfect for keen photographers. 

The first destination is Chisapani after walking about 4-5 hours to Sundarijal. The weather here is always cold, and the name Chisapani means ‘cold water’. You will enjoy a real boon of nature being away from the noise of Kathmandu and the hustle and bustle of city life. Interacting with local people will give you an experience like no other.

Itinerary

Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal

Welcome to Kathmandu. You will be greeted by one of our team members and taken to the hotel in the middle of the city.

Day 02 Kathmandu Drive to Sundarijal for an hour- Trek to Chispani for 5-6 hours

Firstly, after breakfast, we will drive 60 minutes to Sundarijal where your guide will prepare you for the hike. A short briefing will give you an insight to how the trip will go. We will hike down an unpaved road from Kathmandu turning into a trail. The trail will enter through the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The first settlement is Mulkharka with Tamang habitants. Today’s hike is about 5-6 hours depending on pace; however, we will have an hour lunch break to recharge and reach Chispani in the late afternoon. Take the evening to relax as we have a long walk ahead tomorrow.

Day0 3Chisapani Trek to Nagarkot approx 7 hours

After breakfast we will head towards Nagarkot with a demanding day ahead of us. We will be walking for about 7 hours through dense forests in the national park. We will have short rests and lunch in Chauki Bhanjyang or Jhule. After lunch we will continue to Nagarkot offering amazing scenery and peaks along the Himalayas. We will spend the evening in a hotel.

Day 04Nagarkot - Bhaktapur City Tour and Kathmandu

From Nagarkot you can have one of the most beautiful sunrise viewings of the mountinas, so rise up early today! After breakfast you will be driven to Bhaktapur. The City of Devotees is famous for its ancient and well preserved Durbar Square, which is where the royal family used to live. You can experience living history in Bhaktapur, with its pagoda style wooden temples, stone water spouts, brick lined narrow alleyways and its traditional carved wooden house. After exploring this medieval city, you will driven to the airport, for about 2 and half hours before your departure.
After we have transferred you to the airport and said farewell, we hope that you will reminisce in sweet memories of Nepal, Kathmandu, different temples, mountains, nature, the people and their smiles.

Day 05Time to Say Good Bye!

Today we depart from Kathmandu and say farewell to Nepal. Take the day to enjoy your last moments in Nepal with a stroll through the narrow alleys and temples. Don’t forget souvenir shopping for your loved ones back home. A driver will be waiting for you at your hotel to take you to the airport.
