Trekking the GanjaLa Pass is the extended trekking of Langtang valley. For the successful attempt of Ganja La Pass trek, you need a simple mountaineering technique as the trail has some difficulties and also less trekking. Until you reach Kyanjin Gompa, you will be following the same route from Syabrubesi as in the Langtang valley trek. In Kyanjin Gompa, you can take a break to explore the Tsergo Ri. This is a rocky mountain which would be a good warm up to cross the Ganja La Pass in the succeeding days. The views of Langtang Lirung and Mount Shishapangma are spectacular from the height of 5106metres at Ganja La Pass. After crossing the Ganja La Pass, you will descend to Helambu valley which is famous for Yolmo Heritage which is predominantly Buddhist by tradition.
Langtang valley is one of the closest destinations from the capital city Kathmandu for trekking. It is gifted with lots of alternative trekking trails where you can enjoy different side treks, high mountain passes, peak climbing. You can also experience the Tibetan culture as the villages are bordering to Tibet and they are sharing common culture in the highlands. One of the alternative trekking is Ganja La Pass.
The beautiful villages in Helambu valley hosts the sacred places in Buddhism. The sacred leaders of Buddhism are Mila Repa, Guru Rimpoche, and Yolmopa Terton Ngagchang Sakya Zangpo they have meditated in Helambu valley. The villages have ancient old Buddhist monasteries which are worth experiencing. Thus, the adventure is well integrated with the traditions which makes Ganja La Pass trekking a unique experience. The locals say themselves as Sherpa but they are not similar to the Sherpas in Khumbu region

Three cities include 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Kathmandu’s surprise makes you attractive to every visit you follow. You will find our representative and we’ll drive you to the hotel. You will have enough time to relax and release the jet lag.
Today is a day for you to sightseeing in Kathmandu and pick up any essentials you may have forgotten. We recommend you to visit the Durbar Square in the heart of the old city where the old Royal Palace is located. There will be plenty of shopping available in a variety of shops and stalls.
Today there will be a full briefing and gear check so that you are prepared for the trek and locate essential items should you need them.
It’s time to start our trek, we’ll drive and pass through very small villages. On the way, you will get the opportunity to see different landscapes of Nepal, local village, and breathtaking mountain. The roadway is difficult due to the tricky road after the Trisuli market.
Your starting point of this wonderful trek is ( Dhunche) Headquarters in Rasuwa district. After reaching an 8-hour journey from Kathmandu, you will arrive at Dhunche. Your guide will cover all the trekking check post formalities and paper works. At the end, you will reach Syabrubesi, where you will spend a night.
This is the first day of your trekking and you will cross the Mountains, Langtang River and suspension bridges that you will follow for few days. The trails move towards the deep valley, and then you reach the Rimche from the Bamboo forest. Trekking from Rimche is about 1 hour to reach the Lama Hotel. In the forest, you will have the opportunity to see some animals like Monkeys and Red Pandas and possibly a Himalayan Bear. You will spend a night in a famous Lama Hotel.
Today’s transit is comparatively easy to Langtang village by canning gaming. The trail is slowly rotated through small villages and yalk pastures. By crossing too many small streams and moraines, this journey reaches Kyangjin, where you will have your lunch. Here, you have enough time to explore and relax. This is a great place to show your skill and photography interest.
Today you will travel above the Chorkari Ri (5050 meters), which is the viewpoint including vistas of Langtang Lirung (7244m), Langshisa Ri (6810m), Gyanghempo (6888m), Ganjala peak and many more along the Himalayas mountain, hills and valley. In the afternoon you can visit to Yak Cheese Factory and Monastery. Laja Khola crosses open and then leads to moraine naming Kyanjin Gompa, where dramatic ice flows fall to mesmerize your sixth senses!
You can enjoy your morning breakfast with the delicious Yak Cheese made in the local cheese factory and prepare the day hike to Tsergo Ri. The hike is challenging but offers the magnificent view of the Himalayas. This hike can prepare you to take on the challenges while crossing the famous Ganja La Pass. After completing the successful hike to Tsergo Ri, you will be hiking down to Kyanjin Gompa and enjoy the surrounding for the rest of day.
Today, the trail heads to our trekking destination of the trip, the Ganja La Pass. It is off the beaten path, so we advise you to trek with proper guidance from your guide. Today you will also cross the Langtang river and ascend through the rhododendron forest. Having reached Ganja La Pass, enjoy your night in the well set cozy tented camps in the wilderness. The altitude is increasing, and air level is already thinning.v
The most awaited day is over now. You will finally stand collinear to the highest mountain peaks in the Langtang Himal range. Ganja La Pass is almost covered with snow throughout the year. You are advised to take a slow ascend to reach the pass situated on rocky moraine. Enjoy the spectacular view of the Langtang Himal and the neighbouring peaks before you set the descent to Keledang. The successive ascend and descend is going to be strenuous, this is going to take your energy today. After arriving at Keledang, the tented camp will be prepared.
The day again requires some descends through the forests, the pastures and also the mountain ridges. Ready to encounter with Red Pandas in Bamboo forest and also the other animals like deer and blue sheep. The mountain views are sparkling and as the walking goes through the forest, it is going to be a more pleasant trekking day. It will take around 6-7 hours to reach Dhukpa where you are going to spend the last camping of the trek.
Today you will follow the descending trail. Some gentle ascends will follow you. The trail passes through the Sherpa settlements. Tarkeghyang is a beautiful village with an ancient old monastery. The village is sacred because of the monastery, Geke Gompa. The evening dinner is going to be delicious in the local lodge and from today, you have the option of either continuing with the tented camp or simply taking the sleep in the local tea houses. Your trekking team is happy to take on your wishes.
Now the trekking trails are wider, thus easier. The trail passes through the beautiful villages like Setighyang, Ghangyul. The villages in Helambu follow Buddhism and they have their own culture. Therefore, you will pass by the beautiful Mani walls. As the trail passes through the human settlements, you will see the beautiful terraces and also notice the people at their daily chorus. Today evening you can experience the great hospitality of the Hyalmo people.
Now it is time to say leave the beautiful Langtang region and the wonderful people over there. On your final day walk from Shermanthang to Melamchi Pool bazar, enjoy talking with the local people. After having lunch at Melamchi Pool, you will drive back to Kathmandu. Enjoy last-minute dancing with a trekking group. It is really hard to leave the pristine pure nature. Now it is time to plan for another trek in Nepal.
