The Annapurna Region is a great place for aspiring trekkers to practice and grow more confident in their trekking abilities, it is also the perfect spot for adventurers to experience and learn about the rich culture of the area. For example, you will have the opportunity to meet people from the Poon-Magar ethnic group, who are known for their hospitality and traditions. The Mohare Danda trekking route was created with a view to supporting the local communities it passes through by promoting the sustainable use of resources on the trail. Located 3300 meters above sea level, Mohare Dada is simply the best destination for Mountain lovers who wish to get a closer view of the Himalayas.
The route is new and is therefore less crowded, particularly in comparison to other popular trails in the Annapurna Region. A local industry catering to tourists is beginning to develop in the area, with the emergence of tea houses and an increasing number of homestay options allowing travelers to immerse themselves in the local community and culture. More Dada is increasing in popularity due to its ‘off the beaten track’ appeal and its unique hospitality options. As the trek passes through the Naagi, you can also learn about and be inspired by the local social activist, Mr. Mahabir Poon, who started the first wireless internet facility in the area. Today Mohara Dada and surrounding villages are benefiting from improved internet-based medical services and education.
This route is suitable for all ages. We recommend this trek to families as you will meet other families en route and overnights are primarily in homestays.
