The Panchase Trek is one of Nepal’s hidden gems. Located in the same region as the Annapurna Region, Poon Hill trek and the Royal Trek, it is often overlooked by hikers. However, if you don’t have the time to trek these routes, but still want to indulge in a beautiful scenery with mountain peak views, then the Panchase Trek is for you.
For only four days this trek is best suited for beginners and will give you a real sense of what it’s like to trek some of the wilder sections of the Himalayas. The Panchase Trek only requires moderate fitness and is perfectly trek-able for families and retirees. It’s also one of the cheapest treks in Nepal which is great for people on a budget.
Starting in Pokhara, the trek allows you to explore this beautiful city and all it has to offer before leaving. Make sure you have a drink at one of the lakeside cafes! The trek then begins as you cross the Phewa lake by boat – an experience by itself! The trail then takes you up and past the World Peace Pagoda and descends through some lovely local villages where you can experience the authentic and rustic lifestyle of the local people.
Panchase is actually one of the hill stations in the Annapurna Region and also a religious site for Hindu People. The summit of Panchase Hill (2500m) is often considered to be the best viewpoint to see Annapurna massif. However, along your trek you’ll also see other giant Himalaya peaks including Dhaulagiri, Lamjung, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu.
3 Hours Before Flight Time
Upon arrival in Kathmandu you meet our representative at the airport who will take you to your hotel in the center of Kathmandu. On your first day you can explore the vibrant streets and the winding allies while discovering numerous restaurants, cafés and stores. The evening is yours to settle down after your long journey.
Today you will take off to Pokhara within 25 minutes. Your trekking guide will meet you there and will lead you to Thado Khola passing by the famous Devi’s fall on the way. From Thado Khola the trek continues to Bhumdi through lush green forests that offer a vast variety of plants and animals. The trek begins with a long ascend to a ridge before it dexcends down to Bhumdi. From Bhumdi you can have spectacular views of the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Himalchuli, as well as the Annapurna ranges.
Overnight in tents with full board meals.
Today you pass through small village settlements and forests before you reach Bhanjyang at 2030 meters. From here, the trail ascends, winding up to another village, and then leads straight down to Patle.
Overnight in tents with all meals inclusive.
The threk starts at dawn today. You will hike up to have a spectacular sunrise view of the Himalayas Machhapuchhre (or Fishtail, 6993m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Hiun Chuli (6441m), Mardi Himal (5553m), Annapurna III (7555m), Gangapurna (7454m), Dhaulagiri (8167m).
Afterwards you will descend down the far side of the hill to reach All Danda. Today’s walk is gentle and not exhaustive, allowing you to enjoy the surrounding beauty of the trail. By the time you will reach the campsite your camp will be ready. Enjoy the immersion into a mix of cultures as there reside different peoples like the Gurung, Kami and Brahman.
Today you will descent down the stone steps to Bhadaure, and continue on to a motorable trail that takes you across a small stream and through villages, where you will get the chance to interact with locals – children will probably ask for chocolate here! Upon reaching Naudanda, the trail will rejoin the highway where your car will be waiting to pick you up and drive you back to Pokhara, in time for lunch on the ‘Lakeside’!
Pokhara is a city of leisure as well as adventure activities. There are lots of more things to explore such as the Phewa Lake, Devi’s Dall, Mahendra Cave, Bat cave, a Tibetan refugee camp and a museum. Your Guide will organize this sightsseeing tour for you.
Optionally, being an adventure city you can also do paragliding above the city and the lake, or traveling 160km/hour in a Zip flyer or, if you are daring and love adventure, Skydiving was recently added to the list. Mountain biking is another possibility of this tranquil city. Or else you can hike to the peace pagoda across the Phewa Lake where you will have astonishing views over the city and its lake, towered by the giant Himalayas.
After breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu in a private vehicle and arrive in the late afternoon. The evening is yours to spend. You can enjoy various sights such as the Kathmandu Durbar Square or the Garden of dreams.
Today is the day to say Goodbye to Nepal. We will transfer you to the Airport. Hopefully in reminiscence of Nepal, Pokhara, the mountains, nature, people and their smiles.
Terrific company thinks of everything!
Nepal’s infrastructure is uhmmm still quite challenging 🙂 so what you need is a travel planning and support team who are fully engaged and always thinking one step ahead – Which is what you have here. This is organisation at a level I haven’t experienced anywhere outside Japan, accompanied by great and genuine hospitality and enthusiasm. I was solo on a custom hiking itinerary. Tremendous experience. Definitely going with these guys again !
