Description

Rara Lake trekking has been a popular destination in Western Nepal for trekkers. The lake is situated in high altitude and it is surrounded by Rara National Park’s forest of pine and Juniper. Rara is the biggest lake of Nepal. Murma Top is another attraction for the trekkers, from where one can view Rara lake and some mountain ranges. It will be a nice day hike to this place from Rara. Nepal is a gift of nature and every trek you undertake in Nepal are rewarding and worth experiencing.

Rara National Park was established in 1976 named for the extraordinary lake at the heart of the park. The park boasts the beautiful lake surrounded by coniferous forests with a snow-laden peak of the Himalayas in the background.  Whilst this trek does not include hiking up the mountains, you will see them in the background. The lake’s beauty presents a wonderful chance to explore a panoramic view of the region in a beautiful and mystical way. Rara lake is the biggest freshwater lake of Nepal. The destination is remote and requires a transit flight from Nepalgunj to Jumla. You might have to have an overnight stay in Nepalgunj. The hiking trek through Sinja valley may remind you of the origin of the Nepali language and the Devanagari Script.

The trekking trail heads on the path from Chere Chaur to Chalachaur along the famous Sinja valley. You may encounter welcoming Nepali people of ancient settlements. Having reached Rara lake, you will be amazed to see this beautiful lake surrounded by forests of pine and juniper. We also recommend you to take a day hike to Murma. where you can view Rara lake and beautiful mountains. Experience Rara to experience real Nepal.

Our flexible options ensure that your journey to this hidden gem, Rara lake, in Western Nepal is customized to your preferences, offering a unique and unforgettable experience in the serene wilderness surrounding Rara Lake.
