The popular Everest trekking route will amaze and enchant you, as you immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Sherpas, and experience the tranquility of the millennia-old Buddhist monasteries you can visit on the way. Everest Base Camp, at an altitude of 5365m, is the climax of the trip, but you will get more magnificent and stunning mountain vistas from a hike to Kala Pattar, at 5545m. On your Everest Trekking experience, you also have the option of flying domestically to the starting point of Lukla, or selecting overland transport. The benefits of the overland option are that you get additional vistas of diverse geographic landscapes and more intimate encounters with the local inhabitants. The benefits of flying to Lukla are, of course, saving time, as well as getting those initial magnificent Himalayan panoramas from the plane’s window.
