The Manaslu Base Camp Trek usually begins at Besisahar. “Manaslu”, which means “the Spirit Mountain”, is the eight-highest mountain in the world, and provides trekkers with pristine snow capped scenic views and rich biodiversity as they make their way upward. The trek’s apex is at Base Camp; an altitude of 4800m. The greatest aspect of this trek is the teahouses – even though all our treks include stays at traditional mountain lodges or teahouses, the Manaslu trek has arguable the richest cultural history in the region, and the teahouses are the most spectacular. The Manaslu Base Camp routes only opened in 1992, so many parts of the trail still have an aura of being entirely untouched.
